Smashing Pumpkins celebrate 20th Anniversary
Unbeknown to myself, the Smashing Pumpkins will be celebrating twenty years of gloomy, gothic, grunge-rock. To celebrate, the ex-Chicago rockers will be
putting together a short little tour that will be dedicated to much of the band’s early works, in other words, performances from specific album eras. These ideas should come as no surprise, given that the band has been hinting at it for some time now. Recently, things seem to be coming to fruition, at least if their official site rings true.
To celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary, The Smashing Pumpkins will be playing select U.S. cities in August and September of 2008.
No dates or cities have been announced but expect the band to revisit a few specific places that were missed during the last U.S. tour…
Chicago fans might have their chance, finally, to see the band without having to travel a hundred miles or so. This morning, The RedEye, seemed pretty jovial at the prospects of Corgan returning home. And they even hint at the original line up! Then again, Billy’s quite the bitter one ain’t he? So, let’s just take that with a grain of salt.

You know what? I don’t even give a fuck anymore. Billy can go suck an ass. I don’t want him here anymore. I thought it would have been a classy thing to do (tour Chicago) with thier new album[s] coming out and the big whop-de-doo Chicago Tribune article, but really this is just one big dissappointment waiting to happen. This is no longer the Smashing Pumpkins, and really, if they aren’t going to even attempt to reform the original 4 to play this stuff, then I could care less. Billy’s ego is to large for me to support anymore. Good thing he personally announced to Chicago fans the revival nearly 3 damn years ago and they’ve still yet to play Chicago. Sorry buddy, too late, have fun playing an empty house at the Metro, douchebag.
God I miss the Smashing Pumpkins. The REAL Smashing Pumpkins at least. Siamese Dream is a frickin’ masterpiece.
