Yeah Yeah Yeahs return to studio

Yeah Yeah Yeahs return to studio

While no fake album titles have been announced yet, or even an actual name or release date for that matter, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have indeed returned to the studio and are currently working on the followup to 2006’s Show Your Bones.

The band first informed the public of their plans back in January with a news posting on their website that read…

“We have a wet and wild feeling about 2008 and we’re not kidding. YYYs are currently writing and recording another record. A chunk of December was spent on a musical farm in Mass throwing cow dung at each other, making music makes us do strange things.”

Since then, the band composed of Karen O, Nick Zinner, and Brian Chase, has been filling us with photos from around the studio.

Karen is also confirmed to be working on the soundtrack for Spike Jonze’s new movie, Where the Wild Things Are. However, there are strong possibilities the film may never make it out of the drawing board and onto the silver screen.

Solo album, anyone?

  1. Playlist,

I think we are implying, sarcastically at that, that if the film never comes out, and obviously you probably have as much knowledge as we do whether it will or not, it could always be a solo album.

I think you’re being a little too picky.

  2. You read my mind ‘The Playlist’
Where the Wild Things Are - will come out. It will come out well

  3. You must be out of the loop. Karen worked on a solo album years ago. It’s been ostensibly done for a while now, but who knows if and when it will come out. “Strong possibility that the film may never come out,” is greatly overstated and basically wrong. Check your updates on the web. That Slashfilm story is relatively old.

  5. [...] The last we checked Karen O and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were busy playing with cats and working on a new studio album. As much time as this takes up, the New York based band’s frontlady has still found time to work on not one, but two side-efforts. [...]
