Vampire Weekend talk new album
After dropping a demo last week, Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij is dishing out new album details this week. In a recent interview with Australia’s Time Off, the New York band’s guitar and keyboard player noted that they have begun to work on the followup to last year’s much-acclaimed, self-titled debut.
“I guess [the debut] album is a bit of a concept album and it is difficult to say if we will pursue the African sounds,” Batmanglij says. “We have just finished recording a new song that I have to say gets deeper into those African influences. Rather than have just guitar and keyboards it features two interlocking guitars.”
Sure, it’s not much, but hey…it’s something!
