Animal Collective makes mixtapes, Deerhunter makes plans

Animal Collective took some time out of their busy lives to put together a few mixtapes. And we’re not talking about joint effort - Panda Bear, Avey Tare, and Geologist each got in on the fun and made their own.

The “micromixes”, which were made for and posted on Bradford Cox/Deerhunter’s blog, feature a collection of oddball songs, ranging from Phil Colin’s “I’m Not Moving” to The Replacements’ “Within Your Reach”. What’s more, Geologist’s mixtape even has a preview of a new Animal Collective song. Well, kind of…

“…steppin out [by Joe Jackson] is usually close by if i’m making a playlist on my ipod or something. there is a new animal collective song we’ve been working on that reminds me of the end of that one.”
