Girl Talk wants you to pay what you want
Girl Talk’s new album, Feed the Animals, will actually be released soon, in fact, within the next couple of weeks. And the best part? Greg Gillis is pulling, I guess what is now being called, a “Radiohead”…
According to Billboard.com, the Pittsburgh based DJ’s fourth full-length album will be released in a “pay-what-you want format” via his label Illegal Art’s website. Gillis also went on to offer some more details about the 55 minute album, featuring more than 300 samples…
“This project has always been about embracing pop…I feel like the source material on this record has more in-your-face classics. Because of that, it’s more over the top.”
“Feed the Animals” has been developed around his live set, something that’s been ever evolving over the last two years. For the final editing process, I probably worked eight hours a day, Monday through Friday, for about 3 months… I worked very hard to make it sound like I didn’t work hard.”
A physical edition of the album will be released in the near future as well. Until then, Girl Talk has a few scheduled dates to look forward to…
