Norway’s Quart Festival canceled
Turns out U.S festivals aren’t the one which must fear the prospects of cancellation.
Norway’s Quart Festival, which we first told you about back in April, had promised to feature the likes of Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, Kings of Leon, and Justice over the course of four days - between July 2 and 5 in lovely Kristiansand. Unfortunately, due to poor ticket sales, the 17th edition of the legendary festival has been canceled.
Even despite the recent additions Dillinger Escape Plan, Nile, and Gnarls Barkley, the Quart Festival was able to sell only 2,000 tickets, almost 40,000 less than its chief rival - the fellow Norwegian Hovefestivalen.
“We are proud of this year’s festival lineup and the program had received acclaim within the music business. At the same time, we have to admit that we didn’t hit bull’s eye with the audience,” stated festival manager Daniel Nordgård.
The festival has since filed for bankruptcy. Festival-goers who purchased tickets will be able to seek full refunds.
