Bonnaroo around the Web: Thursday
The best thing about this little thing we call “technology” is the speed at which information can be received. Even from a farm in the middle of Tennessee, people can send words, pictures, and videos to anyone and any place around the world.
We call this feature: “Bonnaroo around the Web”…

The flight from Seattle to Nashville, 3 hours and 50 minutes. The drive on day one from Murfreesboro to parking at the venue, 5 hours and 15 minutes. That is 30 miles. You can do the math.

Vampire Weekend. I give in. As many of you may know, I generally have a completely irrational dislike for this band. Just do. But in their element, i.e. a crowd of 20,000 people, they were on their game. The catchy indie-meets-afro-pop inherited from Peter Gabriel and Graceland-era Paul Simon had the crowd bouncing and shouting along to VW’s every note and wish. Genial and it seems a bit entertained to be playing Bonnaroo, it is easy to see why they have taken off so well. (Grrr…).
