Michael Franti to be a rebel rocker

If you attend any one of the hundreds of U.S. festivals, it’s a pretty good bet that Michael Franti & Spearhead will be there. After all, just look at their tour dates!

If you do see the music/activist and his band this summer, you’ll likely be graced with several new tunes. Franti & Spearhead have announced plans of a new studio album, All Rebel Rockers, due for release on September 9 via Anti- Records. Recorded in Kingston, Jamaica under the eye of production team Sly and Robbie, the band’s sixth studio album will deviate from their normal sound, instead comprised of “a hybrid dub-infused soul flavor with some hard-hitting dub rock production.”
