Bonnaroo around the Web: Friday Night
Last night looks like it turned out just as good as promised, highlighted by epic performances from Metallica, My Morning Jacket, and Chris Rock. Oh yeah…all during a torrential downpour.
Sounds like Friday fit the definition of Bonnaroo.
Some quick tidbits:
- Tom Waits did not participate, but he was honored by a Superjam composed of members from Gogol Bordello, Les Claypool, Kirk Hammett, and others.
- My Morning Jacket played quite the show…just look at the set list!
Willie Nelson via The NY Times…
“This is my last show…and I’m glad I’m spending it with all my hippies.”
- M.I.A.

When Swell Season played falling slowly, and Glen Hansard asked the crowd to sing along “because we’re really quiet,” and thousands of people took him up on the offer, I remembered why I love music festivals.
