Springsteen scraps plans for fall tour, may release new album instead…
The only thing stopping a Bruce Springsteen fall U.S. tour was an official announcement - an announcement that now looks like it won’t ever be coming. Despite rumors, complete with tentative dates, that the Boss and his band would begin an extensive arena tour begining in the fall, according to Backstreets, plans for a new leg of dates have been scrapped.
Remember that tentative fall leg that was in the works a couple weeks ago? It’s no longer in the works. Several sources have confirmed that the plan has now been scrapped. We’re looking at a good chance for more dates to be added in August, but right now it appears the August 30 show in Milwaukee stands as the final performance of the Magic tour.
No word on why this is the case, but it very well could have to do with something else Springsteen has up his sleeve.
In a recent interview with BassPlayer.com, E Street Band bassist Garry Tallent confirmed what most Springsteen fans already knew - the band already has another album in the bag. “We have another album’s worth of material recorded, but no word yet on a release or future tours,” Tallent noted.
Perhaps Springsteen plans on releasing the new album before embarking on another new round of tour dates?
