Weezer will be hooting and ‘nanning…
As we mentioned last week, the fine gentlemen of Weezer are beginning to pencil in dates for their “Hootenanny Tour”. In what will be River Cuomo and company’s first live appearances since the release of The Red Album, the fan interactive tour will see the band join a select group of fans in a sing-a-long for the ages.
Turns out the performances, which as of now are only scheduled for the west coast, correspond with radio station contests - Arizona’s The Edge 103.9 handled the first date - as the mainstream medium will be choosing/awarding those who will “participate” at the shows. And based on first look, lets just say, people winners to be enjoying themselves.
If the “Hootenanny Tour” doesn’t tickle your fancy, don’t fret, Weezer is indeed planning on a more standard tour, likely to take place in the fall season, which could include a stop at Los Angeles’ Detour Festival.
Until then, prepare yourselves for the “Hootenanny Tour”, and take some time to check out Weezer’s most recent work - covers of R.E.M. and Radiohead.
Weezer’s “Hootenanny Tour” Dates:
06/19 - Portland, OR
06/20 - San Francisco, CA
06/21 - Seattle, WA
06/23 - Los Angeles, CA
