Bob Dylan gears up for Saratoga Fest and other summer shows
At the ripe young age of 67, Bob Dylan doesn’t appear set to take much of a vacation this summer. The legendary singer/songwriter is planning to hit several U.S. cities in the coming months, which will include a number of headlining spots at a few summer music festivals.
Along with his previously announced scheduled sets at both the Virgin Mobile Festival and North American Music Union, Dylan will also hold down headlining duties for the inaugural edition of the Saratoga Music Festival. Scheduled to go down on August 17 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saragota Springs, New York, Dylan will be joined by a lineup featuring the likes of the Levon Helm Band, the Swell Season, Steve Earl, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and Raul Malo.
No word on whether Mr. Dylan will be hitting the campaign trail with Barack Obama, but he sure does seem to favor the presidential candidate. He’s redefining what a politician is, so we’ll have to see how things play out. Am I hopeful? Yes, I’m hopeful that things might change. Some things are going to have to,” Dylan recently told The Times.
