Sigur Rós confirm, add fall tour dates

Hot off a performance at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, Sigur Rós has unveiled a new leg of of U.S. tour dates. The 17-date North American swing includes all the shows we posted last week, along with a few we didn’t know about it.

Of course, the tour will be in support of the band’s upcoming album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, which is easily one of the best new releases we’ve heard in some time.

Aside from last night’s performance, we got an early taste of what to expect during the band’s set at last weekend’s Bonnaroo - a show that has been described as everything from the pinnacle of the four day festival to life-saving.

Pre-sale tickets for all shows will go on sale tomorrow, June 20 at 9 a.m. EST. Regular tickets will likely be available a week later via ticketmaster.com.

  1. They sold copies of the new album at Bonnaroo. It’s not like you can’t go to their website and hear it anyway, but I thought it was pretty cool that you could purchase the album before it is officially released for $11.99 (the lala Music Store [a.k.a. Newbury Comics] sold just about every other CD for $15.99.)
