Voodoo Fest scares up some more bands

One of the more intriguing music festivals in North America, New Orleans’ own Voodoo Music Festival takes place near the fitting holiday of Halloween, specifically October 24-26 in New Orleans’ City Park. While there are already some killer headliners confirmed (R.E.M., NIN, and Stone Temple Pilots), the “creepy” festival just added some spice thanks to this morning’s announcement revealing the rest of the initial lineup.

Death Cab For Cutie, Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean, Panic At The Disco, Joss Stone, Lupe Fiasco and Dashboard Confessional are among the top names, according to Billboard.com, currently scheduled to take part in this year’s edition of the festival.

Other names confirmed include: DeVotchKa, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Cold War Kids, Ghostland Observatory, Joseph Arthur, Old 97’s, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, the reunited Shudder To Think, The Gutter Twins, Thievery Corporation, Tokyo Police Club and Man Man.

Tickets for the tenth annual New Orleans event will be available via ticketmaster.com begining Monday, June 20.

This is really turning out to be an exciting lineup, especially considering the local talent that will be there, as well. Something tells me I’m going to regret having left the South come October. Anyone out of Chicago willing to carpool?

I’ll bring the costumes!

  1. I am there!

  2. Looks like a real solid lineup. Since Vegoose went under this one will probably attract a lot more attention at the end of October.
