Oasis confirm date, details for Fall LP
The Gallagher brothers, who probably spend more time in the UK tabloids than in the studio or on stage, are back with a seventh LP. Titled Dig Out
Your Soul, the new disc for Oasis will be out October 6th, just in time for all those Halloween parties. (Because we know how “ghoulish” these British alternative artists are, right?) Actually, this should come as a relief for most Oasis fans since it’s been three years since their last album, Don’t Believe the Truth.
“The Shock of the Lightning” will be the first single due out September 29th. What’s great about the song is that it’s written by Noel and sung by Liam. Hopefully this brotherly love lasts long for a successful tour, or something. Nevertheless, here’s what Noel had to say about the upcoming disc:
“I wanted to write music that had a groove; not songs that followed that traditional pattern of verse, chorus and middle eight. I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way. Songs that you would maybe have to connect to – to feel.”
“If ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ sounds instant and compelling to you, it’s because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast.

Of course, all this news comes right after the announcement that the band would be sticking with a major label. Looks like I’m gonna have to start listening to (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? again. And yes, I know that makes you all scoff at me.

Hmm. Learn something new everyday. Still, given the history of conflict, it’s kind of a nicety.
A vast majority of their songs are written by Noel and sung by Liam.
I heart oasis. Pop genius.
