Extreme are back with a new album and tour
You remember Extreme, don’t you? Back in the early 90s, the Boston rockers hit the pinnacle of commerical success thanks to their double platinum album, Pornograffitti, and the chart-topping acoustic ballad, “More Than Words”. Remember now?
Well get ready, they’re coming back. Though Extreme have made few mini-reunions and an appearance in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure in recent years, the four-piece outfit is gearing up for a full return, which will include the release of their first new studio album in 13 years.
Scheduled for release on September 12 via Open E Records, Saudades de Rock will feature 13 tracks offering a “‘mishmash’ of old-school rock and some tasty abstract ditties.” The song “Star”, which we posted yesterday as part of our Friday Mixtape, will be the album’s first single.
In addition to the upcoming release, the band will also soon embark on their “Take Us Alive” world tour along with a headlining stint at this summer’s Rocklahoma Festival.
