Pharrell Williams wants to help The Strokes
A few weeks ago, the blogosphere was graced with “My Drive Thru”, the result of a star-studded collaboration between Santogold, Pharrell Williams, and Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas in support of Converse’s centennial celebration.
It now turns out that the project may not only have led to a brand new song, but also a potential partnership between Williams and Casablancas’ band. While nothing is official, there are growing rumors that the acclaimed hip-hop producer will work with The Strokes on their much-awaited, fourth studio album.
Speaking to NME.COM, Williams said: “Julian [Casablancas] and I have already worked together, of course I would be up for [producing the band].
“I would work with Julian in a heartbeat, in a heartbeat. They are a genius band, a genius band.”
First, it’s the Red Hot Chili Peppers with Justice? Now this.
What has world come to?
