Xavier Rudd plans album release, tour
Bumbershoot and Austin City Limits are no longer the only places you’ll be graced by the many sounds of Australian multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd. Along with the upcoming release of Rudd’s new studio album, Dark Shades of Blue, thanks to a newly announced North American tour, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to watch socially conscious performer dish out a didgeridoo during the occasional song.
But let’s get to Rudd’s fifth studio album first. Dark Shades of Blue, out in the U.S. via ANTI-, is described as a mix of light and dark styles and sounds…
“There are a few different moods that come through it. There were a few different personal bridges I crossed last year, in terms of my family history. There’s a well-rounded emotional landscape to the songwriting, and down to the production of the album—I think we pulled it off.”
The album is currently available for pre-order via Rudd’s website. Order the CD early and receive an immediate copy of “This World As We Know It,” the first single off of Dark Shades of Blue
As mentioned, the release will be accompanied with a leg of newly announced tour dates, which kick off August 29th in Aspen, Colorado. Check out the full list below…
