UNKLE gives away all sorts of music ahead of new album
On July 15, UNKLE will return, at least digitally, with the release of End Titles… Stories for Film, their fourth studio album, via Surrender All Records. Billed as a “a collection of eclectic recordings” inspired by various films and other “moving images” released since the band’s most recent effort to date, 2007’s War Stories, the 22 track album consists of all new material, featuring a multitude of collaborations.
This pioneering act are never prepared to stagnate or run out of fresh ideas about musical styles and collaborations and so they have teamed up with some of today’s most exciting and cutting edge acts with this album including Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Black Mountain, Gavin Clark, Joel Cadbury (South) James Petralli from White Denim, Chris Goss (Masters of Reality, Queen of the Stone Age), Dave Bateman, James Griffith (from UNKLE’s touring band) and Aidan Lavelle.
In support of the release, the British act has dropped four tracks from End Titles… Stories for Film for free online. Originally, fans had scavenge through the internet for the tunes, but thanks to the wonders of publicity, you can check all of them out below.
…when played consecutively in order, they play as one extended, mixed piece of music that comprises the middle section of the record.
UNKLE will also be making an appearance, or at least their music remixing skills, later this summer on the upcoming film, The X-Files: I Want To Believe. The band will be remixing and releasing the theme song worldwide on July 21.
