Seeing as that we here at Consequence of Sound are huge cereal lovers as well, in fact just this afternoon, myself and Michael Roffman were discussing our current favorites, we figured Aesop’s blog entry provided the perfect opportunity to compare our list against his…

Aesop Rock’s Top 10 Cereals:

Honey Bunches of Oats
Fruity Pebbles
Smart Start
Lucky Charms
Rice Krispies
Frosted Flakes
Apple Jacks
Special K
Cheerios
Grape Nuts (only to be served w/ honey)

Aesop has some good choices, but his list lacks both wow! factor and variety. Sure, the classics like Frosted Flakes and Lucky Charms are fantastic, but there is no cereal that just jumps out at you, gets you excited…

Raisin Bran Crunch
Kellogg’s Low Fat Granola With Raisins
Frosted Flakes Gold
Fruity Cheerios
Cracklin’ Oat Bran
Cookie Crisps
Strawberry Delight Frosted Mini-Wheats
Honey Nut Cheerios
Apple Jacks
Reese’s Puffs

Raisin Bran Crunch? Add some bananas on top and you have the best meal in the world. Granola, no matter the brand, is always fantastic as well, though on the down side, it is also super expensive. As for Cracklin’ Oat Bran? It may look unappealing, but I have never met any person who isn’t hook after one taste.
