The Who to tour US in Fall
Okay, so it’s only Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, but still, these guys know how to bring any house down. And why wouldn’t they? After all, they are one of rock n’ roll’s greatest assets. Now, for those who
were keenly interested in our big giveaway last month and were unable to make it to VH1 Rock Honors, you’re in luck. The Who are set to tour the United States again.
If you’ve been following up on the band, then this tour should come as a surprise. Lately, both Daltrey and Townshend have been relatively grim about the future for The Who; instead, this tour confirms they’re very interested to keep the act on the road, with possibly another release to follow up 2006’s Endless Wire (something Townshend alluded to earlier, as well). If you’ve heard Zak Starkey on the drums or Pino Palladino on the bass, you’ll know that while it’s not Keith Moon or John Entwistle, respectively, it’s the best you’ll get.
While dates are still being put together, there are two already confirmed (see below). Be forewarned now, though. Tickets will be sky high and hard to grab, but available through their fan club pre-sales on their official site. In the meantime, get crackin’ on all your Who history and grab these DVDs now: The Kids Are Alright, Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970, or more recently, Live in Boston.
See ya around kids!

Bonnaroo would be interesting for The Who.. and very challenging to the act. They would need to pull some rarities out and start jamming a ton. I would actually love them to headline Bonnaroo and perform Tommy or Quadrophenia in it’s entirety.. hell, maybe both.
I’m not going to be able to afford a headlining show…
Here’s to hoping they headline bonnaroo ‘09! (I think there is a very good chance they will)
