Montreal, Barcelona make their pitches
Still looking for that ideal summer vacation location? Thankfully, both Montreal and Barcelona are hear to help. Only it it won’t be the sites of a city that will be entertaining you upon your arrival, but the sounds, and new ones at that, of some fine bands.
As cheesy as the above paragraph may be, it is accurate! After all, two of musics more notable bands named after cities will be providing quite a bit of fun in the coming months.
As we mentioned last week, Kevin Barnes and Of Montreal will unveil their newest project, Skeletal Lamping, on October 7 via Polyvinyl. Since then, the Montreal Georgia natives have both dished out album artwork, a tracklist, and some more North American tour dates.

I’m From Barcelona, who like Of Montreal, aren’t at all from the city they’re named after, will also be releasing a new album in the coming weeks. Entitled Who Killed Harry Houdini?, the followup to 2006’s Let Me Introduce My Friends, will see light on October 14 via Mute Records. While the album’s first single, “Paper Planes” will hit us before any new Of Montreal sounds, whether live or recorded, as of now, the Swedish only have a few European dates on their itenerary.
