The Beach Boys reunite? Tonight?

It’s no secret that Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys have their troubles. With the exception of a reunion gig in 2006, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Pet Sounds, the Beach Boys have been without a Wilson for some time now. In fact, the only current original member is Mike Love, if you’re not counting Bruce Johnston (who joined in ‘65). No, Brian Wilson has enjoyed his solo life (and the fact that he wasn’t a part of “Kokomo”), finally releasing SMiLE in 2004 with another release slated for September. So, why is there word of a reunion? And one with not only Brian but vocalist and guitarist Al Jardine, too?

And why tonight?

This morning, The Daily Herald wrote up that at tonight’s show at Ravinia in Highland Park, IL, Wilson and Jardine will join Love & The Boys for a special occassion, or “one-night stand.” It’s a small blurb, and literally nonexistent on the web, so one might take this with a grain of salt, but if this proves true… expect one hell of a night. One thing’s for sure, CoS will be there.

Fingers crossed for John Stamos!
