Smashing Pumpkins in studio, issue more dates
We’re about as exhausted as you are when it comes to following the Smashing Pumpkins lately. Not only do they bleed out news as slow as a John Wayne film, but they also hold back a ton each time. The last time we spoke about the band, they had announced their first August tour date in Indiana at the The Venue. Now we have some real confirmed dates and word on the single.
Due out in September, “G.L.O.W.” is the title for the new single which the band (though one can only assume this means Corgan and Chamberlin) is recording presently. And while there are no details about the song per say, we do have some word on what the hell their schedule might be like for the rest of the summer. Here’s another little blurb they left this morning:
After the band has finished its current studio run, they will take some time to rehearse prior to the beginning of the August tour
SP.com can confirm that the band will be conducting their next week of pre-tour rehearsals in Davenport, IA prior to the show on August 8th.
We can also confirm that the concert August 8 at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, IA will indeed be the kick-off show of the August tour.
One can hope this new release will show more promise than the troubled American Gothic sessions, which sounded like Corgan playing his favorite songs in a closet. At the very least, he could let “bassist” Ginger Reyes sing harmonies. Or, god forbid he let “guitarist” Jeff Schroeder in on some recording time.
As usual, we’ll keep you up to date.

Smashing Pumpkins - “Tonight, Tonight”

80 bucks a ticket before fees is pretty crazy, also, the show in Columbia, MO is up on the blue notes website

oops… after checking back, they’ve taken it down
“though one can only assume this means Corgan and Chamberlin”
Hasn’t it always basically been them two doing all the work?
Not if you count Mellon Collie as part of the Pumpkins discography, which I would.. haha.
I know the whole back story behind Siamese Dream, but it still shouldn’t mean that Corgan and Chamberlin should be the only ones participating, especially with harmonies and such.
Clearwater? What the hell for??
The other tickets are going for around $40, which clearly shows the venue in Hammond(a casino) is gouging for the show. I’m not sure if they made the pumpkins post that date first or not, but it’s definitely not the choice of the pumpkins to make all shows $80-100.
Excuse me while I hate on Billy Corgan. Fuck you billy. That is all.
Blue Note does not have anything posted about Smashing Pumpkins and I called. wherever you got your eyes checked Id get my 5 dollars back. Lay off of getting info off the Internet. Do you buy pills online? Your gonna wake up with tits instead of muscles. Oh and to the person bitching about Billy, Screw You. Who asked you to detour off Disney site to come bitch about a band you don’t like Fag. Jealous…
PUMPKINS KICK ASS!!!
wish this rumor was true.
Clearly tr4v1s.lee you have your head on straight!
