Who wants to have a Rock Band II party?
The idea of Rock Band used to irk me. Why spend $200 bucks for a set of plastic, fake instruments, when a Fender Squier costs less than that? The loss of future musicians must be paramount, right? Then I played the game. Then I felt like an asshole. There’s nothing more surreal and inviting than feeling like drummer Stewart Copeland while “jamming” out on songs “Can’t Stand Losing You” or “Roxanne”, preferably late in the night and usually shirtless.
So, the idea of channeling both Paul Westerberg and J. Mascis sounds even better!
The official, full track list was released this morning at E3, which is the equivalent of Comic Con to video game nerds alike. On first glance, this is easily one of the greatest things to happen to console players everywhere, well maybe not, but definitely for music loving, console players. I still can’t believe the track list, which includes everything from Dinosaur Jr. to The Replacements, Smashing Pumpkins to Beck. Oh, did I mention that a brand, spankin new Guns N’ Roses song, “Shackler’s Revenge”, will debut on the game, too?
Check it out yourself, sucka…

While pasting it on, I noticed Alanis Morrissette too! Thank God, now all those helpless, dramatic nights can be spent singing into a microphone, pantless, and possibly inebriated. Dave Coulier, watch out!

[...] Rock Band II will be released September 14, while Chinese Democracy will find its way out before the end of the world, vaguely December 21, 2012. Will they even have Dr. Pepper by then? Ugh. [...]
