New Westerberg album? Tomorrow?
If everything checks in (which it will), fans of the Minnesota legend, Paul Westerberg, will have some new music to relate to. Excited yet? As if Radiohead or NIN haven’t convinced every artist that the internet is the next best thing to Sears & Roebuck, Westerberg will be putting it out via his own site, and only for .49 cents.
Yes, you read that right. According to his own pad, Man Without Ties, the coughing, crooning singer/songwriter will be releasing his first collection of new tunes since 2006’s soundtrack to Open Season… and by tomorrow.
July 17, 2007
On June 49, (that’s July 19 to you and me), Paul Westerberg will be releasing 49 minutes of music for just 49ยข. Check back on Saturday, July 19 and you’ll find a link to download the new tunes.
Now that Westerberg seems healed from his “tool shed” incident (where he cut open his hand, forcing him into a short hiatus), this new album seems rather enticing. So many questions come to mind: Where is he going to come from? What stories will he tell us? And how much of the nitty gitty will we be able to hear?
After all, that’s the best part of any Westie record.
Stay tuned, folks.
