Smashing Pumpkins finalize “warm up tour”

In preparation for their upcoming, yet to be officially announced anniversary tour, the Smashing Pumpkins will be hitting the road for some rehearsals throughout the month of August. While details regarding the Chicago rockers’ ultimate plans still remain a bit sketchy, Billy Corgan and company have indeed finalized their “warm up” itinerary with some recently announced tours dates.

Of course, all this comes in the wake of news that the Pumpkins will be unleashing “G.L.O.W.” in September. And if that’s not enough Pumpkins mania for you, check out the band’s oldie, “The End is the Beginning is the End”, in the trailer for the upcoming film, Watchmen. You might recall the late 1997 debacle, Batman & Robin, using this song, as well.

  1. I think Billy Corgan’s Ego has had enough. It’s time to say, “Billy, we’ve had enough of your bullshit.”

Too bad I’m going to have to hate myself.

  2. The song from Watchmen is actually “The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning,” which was also on the Batman & Robin soundtrack. I think it’s just a different version of “The End Is The Beginning Is The End.”

  3. Billy Corgan is the shit period.Glad to see him back and the pumpkins touring.See you in “Kentucky” Pumpkins loooking forward to it!The song is “The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning,” and was also for the batman movie.Billy is very well known for making different versions of music. That’s if know anything about the man period.

  4. Correction it is “The End Is the Beginning Is the End”

  5. It’s time to say, “Billy, we’ve had enough of your bullshit.”>>>

Johnny, you post this in every SP post.

  6. “The End Is The Beginning…” = shitty Batman installment

“The Beginning Is The End…” = kick-ass Watchmen trailer

Both tracks rock, although I am not typically a fan of post-Machina Pumpkins.

Okay, I’ll go back in my hole and crank up Pisces Iscariot now.

  7. ^^^ You are a poseur. “Both tracks rock, although I am not typically a fan of post-Machina Pumpkins” Both of these songs came out in 1997 on the Batman & Robin Soundtrack.

  8. I’ve got an ax to grind. Plus I was kind of using your “When is enough, enough; Kanye?” story there to be a douche. :) I’m just playin’, like I said, I bitch but I’ll probably see them when they finally play Chicago, only cause I was too young to see them ever before… I’m not buying a fucking t-shirt though. So there!

  9. I dont understand someone needs to explain this… are they warming up for the return of D’arcy and Iha or warm up for more of the same??

  10. I was referencing that in lieu of these two songs being the last good shit to come out of Smashing Pumpkins (save for a few Zeitgiest songs)

Machina, Zwan, and Corgan’s solo effort blew.

I did not, however know that the remix was also included on said soundtrack - make that the only TWO good things to come from Batman and Robin (minus Uma Thurman in red hair and green spandex).
