Check Out: Stephen Malkmus’ “Astral Face” (Live at Siren 2008)
This past weekend, Stephen Malkmus took the stage at Coney Island for his headlining performance at the Siren Music Festival. Being a man who rarely disappoints, the former Pavement frontman thrilled sunburnt festival-goers with a 16 song set, which included a new tune entitled “Astral Face”.
Thankfully, the folks behind nyctaper captured not only this tune, something our own Michael Roffma
n perhaps describes best as a “a bouncy ballad that’s scattered yet concise in feeling,” but Malkmus’ entire set, and are now sharing it for all to enjoy. Their only request? “We expect that you will PLEASE SUPPORT Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, visit their website, and purchase their official releases from the Store at the Matador Records site.”
As for your next opportunity to check out Mr. Malkmus & the Jicks live? Well, of course, Lollapalooza (with all its conflicts) is quickly approaching as are a few other appearances…
