Financial backer screws over Fuck Yeah Fest, but tixs ARE on sale!

As we mentioned yesterday, the folks behind this year’s edition of the Fuck Yeah Fest posted an official, but rather confusing initial lineup on its myspace yesterday. While offering the first bit of names scheduled to take part in the Los Angeles based festival, the lineup was not only a bit confusing, but also lacked a number of the names that we have independently confirmed through other outlets.

While Fuck Yeah promises to add “many more names” in the coming weeks, it appears that there is now an explanation for all the confusion regarding the details of the the fest. In a posting appearing on the festival’s official website, organizer Sean Carlson recaps a worst nightmare scenario that has become a reality…

This year the F Yeah Fest took a huge hit. The original financial backer pulled out days before we had planned to announce the line up, leaving the fest in a very bad position. I had to choose between canceling it entirely or scaling it down and risking going into an incredible amount of debt. I chose to go ahead and take the financial hit in order to keep what I’ve worked to build for the past five years alive. I didn’t realize how bad it would until last week…

Now I am well over $15k in debt. I do not have a financial backer to pull me out of this. My friends and I organize this event and other events such as the F Yeah Tour, Mess With Texas & the LA Scavenger Hunt, all of which are labors of love. 100% of your contribution will go towards keeping these events alive and will allow us to continue to grow. Anything you can donate will help us tremendously.

Hopefully, Carlson and the rest of the “F Yeah Crew” can scrap enough money together to bring a few more the rumored names to Echo Park between August 30 and 31. After all, who wouldn’t want to see the Melvins, Big Bussiness, Denali, Holy Fuck, and the Mae Shai, combined with all the aforementioned official acts, in one place at the same time?

Buying a ticket, now available via ticketweb.com, would probably help too…
