The Mountain Goats, Kaki King share time on road, predict future
The Mountain Goats and Kaki King are preparing to bring you “the last happy night of your life.” But before you start flinging clothes into a suitcase and muttering to yourself, “I thought we had until December 21, 2012?!?!?!,” bear in mind the above quotes and the fact we’re talking about some musical masterminds, rather than evil villains.
In fact, “The Last Happy Night of Your Life” is simply the name of the recently announced upcoming co-headlining tour of the John Darnielle-led folk group and the 28-year-old Atlanta solo artists. And based off the sounds heard on the Mountain Goats recently relased album, Hectic, and Darinielle’s personal
vouching for King, perhaps it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to call any of the upcoming dates on the month-long tour a once in a lifetime performance.
When I try to talk about Kaki my usually reliable fund of superlatives seems insufficient. She is just the best. I am so excited about this tour. We can’t wait to play music with her every night, and we can’t wait to see you all there.
- John Darnielle
However, we’ll let you decide for yourself. But then again, it’s either this or stocking up on some serious anti-depressants…
