Radiohead schedules and cancels pre-Lollapalooza show

If everything had gone according to plan, early arrivers to this weekend’s Lollapalooza would of had the opportunity to attend a special, pre-Lollapalooza performance by Radiohead. Originally scheduled to take place on Thursday at the Chicago Theatre, the concert was expected to be announced today. Only it wasn’t, and now, it’s canceled.

The show had been in the works for weeks and the band was to announce details for a ticket sale this week on its Web site, radiohead.com/deadairspace, but decided Tuesday against playing the extra show. No explanation has been made public for the 11th-hour change in plans, and Radiohead could not be reached for comment.

Lollapalooza will instead remain Radiohead’s only scheduled performance in Chicago.
