Screw Rock Band II & Guitar Hero IV, I’m Going to Rock n’ Roll Fantasy Camp
“If you got the money, honey, we got your disease.”
That could be the theme song to the ongoing Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp, touring the country this summer. Allowing attendees to live their rock n’ roll dreams, the camp’s stated mission is to “bring people’s musical fantasies to life!” So what exactly is this camp? According to the website:
Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp™ is a one-of-a-kind event that brings music lovers of all levels together with professional rock ‘n roll stars - and that brings those music lovers the unforgettable opportunity to move from spectator to the stage, sharing the limelight with living legends.
Blah, blah, blah…right. Let’s just cut to the chase and get to what everyone wants to know - who are these “living legends”? Again, according to the camp’s website:
• Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses)
• Elliot Easton (The Cars)
• Earl Slick (David Bowie/John Lennon)
• Dave Ellefson (former Megadeth bassist)
• Glen Hughes (Deep Purple),
• Chris Slade (AC/DC, The Firm with Jimmy Page)
• Mark Slaughter (Slaughter)
• Mark Hudson (Aerosmith, Grammy Award wining writer/producer),
• Kip Winger (Winger)*many more to be announced. In addition Special Guests will be stopping by throughout the tour. You never know who will drop in on Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp!
Not only do campers have the opportunity to play alongside these “living legends,” but the camp claims to treat the campers just like a true rock star. I’m not sure if this means that they will be giving them the full pampered treatment or selection of intoxicants. I have a feeling that when the camp states that, “you’ll live the rock n’ roll lifestyle day in and day out” it has more to do with attendees practicing the craft and jamming up on a stage.
The camp is set up for aspiring rock stars of all levels, from the video game dreamer to the hair band wannabe. If it turns out that you are just plain awful at music, not all is lost. The camp will give you tons of opportunities to build your money’s worth of memories. Some of the highlights include, instruction from celebrity musicians, write your own original song, perform live on stage to a sold out audience at a major rock venue, souvenir DVD of you jamming at the final night’s Battle of the Bands, and rehearsal time at professional rehearsal studios.
While the big spenders will have a hard time ignoring the November, Six Day London experience (taking place at the legendary Abbey Road Studios), those with a smaller surplus budget will probably find the touring dates sufficient. Packages start at a measly $1,999 per person for the basic package, growing as high as $9,999 for the Platinum Five-Day package.
No word on whether a fifth of Jack Daniels is included.

Winger and Slaughter in the same sentence as “living legends”? Wow.
Yeah, we both use quotes my friend.
