Interview: Sofia Talvik

Interview: Sofia Talvik

On a breezy Saturday afternoon at Lollapalooza, I had the chance to stop and chat with one of Stockholm, Sweden’s hottest songwriters, Sofia Talvik. With festival gear in tow, the gorgeous lyricist seemed relaxed and happy on the second day of the Chicago festival, after all, she had already completed a wonderful set on Friday.

We discussed everything from traveling, American audiences, her own label (Makaki Music), and her influences deeply rooted in Americana. Overall, she seemed impressed with the festival and very excited for the remainder of the year, which has her returning overseas and releasing her third album, Jonestown, which is being worked over by producer, Tobias Fröberg, who recently cut Morén’s solo record.

If you’re unfamiliar with her work, do take a listen! She is bound to allure.
