Bishop Allen preps new album and tour

Bishop Allen has a busy few months ahead of them. Well, perhaps not as busy as when Brooklyn duo of Justin Rice and Christian Rudder were releasing a new EP every month back in 2006, but still, the upcoming calender is becoming quite full.

Between the time being spent in the studio working on the followup to 2007’s The Broken String, tentatively scheduled for release early next year and all the recently announced tour dates, it was hard to imagine that Bishop Allen has much time for anything else, let alone an appearance in a upcoming major motion picture. But with a scene in the upcoming Michael Cera film, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (October 3), Rice and Rudder did just that.

The band appears in the movie during a scene where Nick and Norah first meet. The trailer for this movie was just released, and features Bishop Allen’s song “Middle Management” as well as a brief glimpse of the band onstage during the movie. Songs by Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, We Are Scientists, Band of Horses, Devendra Banhart and more are featured alongside Bishop
