David Byrne officially adds those tour dates without Brian Eno
David Byrne’s upcoming tour dates have become even more of a story than the actual album they will be supporting. After all, since news of Byrne’s work with Brian Eno on Everything That Happens Will Happen Today surfaced in April, questions regarding potential on stage collaborations involving the two music legends have been spreading like wild fires.
While we now know Byrne will be hitting the road on his own, until now, dates of the upcoming tour have only been showing up on ticket outlets and venue websites. But with a free preview of the new album available on the official website, Byrne has unveiled the full list of dates for his “Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno” tour.
David Byrne will embark on a six-month world tour starting September 16. The tour, titled “David Byrne, Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno,” will feature Byrne performing songs from his numerous collaborations with Brian Eno, including tracks from several Talking Heads albums produced by Eno, the pair’s 1981 collaboration My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and their newest collaborative effort, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today. “The live shows will…try to draw a line linking this new material with what we did 30 years ago,” explains Byrne. He will tour throughout the U.S. from the fall of ‘08 through early ‘09, Australasia in early ‘09 and Europe in March ‘09.
Among highlights? An ACL aftershow!?!?! But no NYC Show. I guess you win some and you lose some…
