CMJ 2008 reveals initial lineup

The CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival will return this October for another edition of its week long showcase. Scheduled to go down between October 21 and 25 in New York City, the event will once again offer a countless number of concerts, films, and discussion panels for anyone willing to shell out a few dollars.

2008 will continue that tradition, with CMJ Music Marathon highlighting the best new music first, featuring performances from artists that span genres including alternative, rock, electronic, hip-hop, metal, Americana, world, jazz and so much more. It’s virtually assured that many future breakout bands will be playing the 2008 CMJ Music Marathon. Artists confirmed so far for the 28th annual CMJ Music Marathon include:

A Place To Bury Strangers, Annuals, Beach House, Broken Social Scene, The Cool Kids, Crystal Castles, The Dears, Deerhoof, Del McCoury Band, Delta Spirit, Donavon Frankenreiter, Fujiya & Miyagi, Gang Gang Dance, Jay Reatard, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Lykke Li, The Mae Shi, Magnetic Morning, Margot and the Nuclear So-and-Sos, Minus The Bear, Monotonix, mother mother, Oakley Hall, The Octopus Project, Parts and Labor, Roisin Murphy, They Might Be Giants, Yip Yip, Yo Majesty
