Times New Viking records, travels, and tours

Times New Viking sure know how to end a year with a bang. Along with a recently announced North American tour with Deerhunter, the Columbus, Ohio based indie band will be releasing a new EP, hanging with Sonic Youth, and traveling to Europe.

Lets get to the EP first. Entitled Stay Awake, the five track effort will be released as a 7″ on October 21.

Ignoring the somewhat pathetic pleading on the part of someone who may or may not work for a record company, Times New Viking have eschewed demands to release a 10? EP, instead going the old tried and tested 7? route with the forthcoming “Stay Awake”, due October 21.

All five songs will be available via the Matador Download Shoppe, and other goodlooking (if a tad monolithic) digital music emporiums.

The release comes in the midst of a slew of upcoming tour dates, which include the aforementioned support set for Sonic Youth and a number of an appearance at the Pygmalion Music Festival.
