The Avett Brothers sign deal, celebrate with album and tour

With nine releases already under their belt, including the recently released The Second Gleam EP and a growing reputation as one of the best live bands around, the Avett Brothers recently caught the eyes of Columbia Records and were awarded a record contract. In celebration of the deal, the North Carolina based band has revealed plans for a new full-length album in early 2009.

We have recently begun working on a new full length album with Rick Rubin. The recording process has been, and will no doubt continue to be, an experience defined by heightened levels of commitment and conviction. It is our distinct pleasure and honor to be in such fine company as we build and bring this most current chapter of songs to fruition.

In addition to the studio time, the Avett Brothers will also be spending quite a bit of time on the road in the coming months…
