The Hold Steady like touring and Oasis, don’t like Radiohead
There are many certainties in life. The sky is blue, Chinese Democracy will never come out (though based on the recent developments, this may soon be false), and the fact that I’m seeing Bruce Springsteen in a few hours are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head. When it comes to that New York band known as The Hold Steady, we know they make pretty solid music (see: Stay Positive) and like to tour (see below).
But did you know what the Craig Finn led band also has dislikes? And no we’re not talking about the emotions and feelings expressed in any of their four studio albums. We’re talking about reality, right now, Radiohead! Wait, what!?!?!

I still appreciate what they’re doing, or what they’re trying to do. But I think they’re trying too hard not to be Radiohead. That seems a little ridiculous to me.”

Yes friends, The Hold Steady has done the unthinkable. They have spoken about Radiohead in a negative context. I didn’t even know that was possible!
But before you get to caught up in the words, we would like to point out that the band does have allegiance to some other notable Brits…

The Hold Steady is one of my favorite bands of the decade. Radiohead may be my favorite band of all time. Nothing in this story changes either of those things. My favorite bands don’t have to like each other.
