Watch: My Morning Jacket’s “Screaming” Video

The “it” band of the moment, My Morning Jacket, continues to ride their tidal wave of success by premiering their new music video on Subterranean (MTV). ”Touch Me I’m Going To Scream, Pt. 2″ plays off childhood imaginations, utilizing characters eerily similar to Maurice Sendacks’ “Where The Wild Things Are”. With this video, the band worked with The Mixtape Club, most famous for their recent work with Yeasayer and TV On The Radio. The Mixtape drew on “Planet Earth” and Russian animator Yuri Norstein for inspiration with this visually beautiful computer generated fairy tale. The video even includes a wholesome lesson about hoarding and gluttony.

During the summer the band built up a gigantic amount of buzz with career defining performances at Radio City Music Hall, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Pemberton, and multiple European festivals. Recently, the band kicked off a late summer and early fall tour, traveling to theaters and amphitheaters in North America, with shows in Europe to follow. Most of the shows on this tour will be billed as, “An Evening With”, with no opening band; however, The Red Rocks show will be a double bill with The Black Keys. Looking ahead some, the band has also earned the coveted New Year’s Eve headlining spot at Madison Square Garden in New York.
