Rise Against readies LP, tour dates

On October 7th, Chicago punk rockers Rise Against will release Appeal To Reason, the follow up to their 2006 release, The Sufferer & the Witness which featured the hits “Ready To Fall” and “Prayer of the Refugee.” With their new album, the Chicagoans returned to their team of producers, Bill Stevenson who has worked with NOFX, Jason Livermore and mixer Chris Lord Alge of Green Day fame.

The album’s first single is “Re-Education (Through Labor),” which bassist Joe Principe says, “It’s a good way to start off this new record, because I think the album has a lot of progression and something different to offer and I think that song represents us the best.”

Starting today, however, fans who pre-order Appeal To Reason on iTunes will immediately receive the new single. And while they’ll have to wait until October 7th for the full album, those who pre-order it will receive an exclusive live version of “Prayer Of The Refugee” as well as an additional iTunes exclusive b-side, “Elective Amnesia.”

Rise Against will hit the road, in support of Appeal To Reason, this fall and will be joined by fellow Chicago natives, Alkaline Trio, as well as Thrice, and The Gaslight Anthem. Tour dates after the jump…

  1. Bill Stevenson isn’t a contributing member to NOFX. He’s the drummer for Black Flag, Descendents, ALL, and Only Crime. He only produced one, if not more, of their recordings.

  2. I was alluding to his producing duties with NOFX, Nick.

  3. Touche.
