Check Out: Metallica’s “The Day That Never Comes”
With Death Magnetic’s September 12th release date quickly approaching, Metallica is begining to offer fans a taste of what to expect. After debuting “Cyanide” at Ozzfest earlier this month, James Hetfield and the boys are now streaming “The Day That Never Comes”, the album’s first single, on their myspace.
The eight-minute track starts off a bit mellow only to be overcome by a series of ridiculous guitar solos in typical Metallica fashion. Gears of Rock has a review. BuzzStoc has the lyrics. iTunes will have it available for purchase.
Next up for Metallica is a headlining stint at Reading and Leeds, some super cheep shows in Germany and England, and then, on to the U.S.

amazing song for a new Metallica track… This has really upped my expectations…
Boring and sprawling… two words to describe this overhyped sensation.
fuck
this song is absolute shit, how can they namedrop master of puppets, namely sanitarium, for this track, and then have hero of the day pt 2 come out?
You people are pathetic! People are so critical on Metallica now but will LOVE the standard SHIT that 311 or the like puts out. Get a life!
A masterpiece. Hands down the best thing I’ve heard for ages. Melodic, powerful, and with enough changes to ensure it’ll never get old. These guys know how to craft a song…
