She and Him reveals more west coast fun
M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel, more affectionately known to their ever-growing fan base as She and Him, have announced three new dates in California come early November. Tickets will go on sale through a special pre-sale tomorrow at 3 PM (PCT) through their website. The dates include stops at the Wiltern in Los Angeles,
Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco, and the House of Blues in Anaheim.
In case you’re still unaware of what has become one of the year’s most unique duos, lets do some quick story time. Ward and Deschanel first met earlier this year on the set of the movie The Go-Getter, and subsequently recorded a duet for the final credits of the film. After this initial recording, they continued to communicate which led to their first album, Volume One, a collection of songs that are one part folk, one part country, and one part pop. She and Him eventually went live, making their first official appearances at the Noisepop Festival in San Francisco and SXSW in Austin to rave reviews. They continued live ventures into the summer, which included a stop at the Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore, where our own staff writer, E.N. May, considered them the “obvious sleeper of the weekend.”
