Check Out: Radiohead covers Neil Young

With the end of the In Rainbows summer tour just around the corner, Radiohead is starting to turn out the surprises. Take Monday night’s show at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl  for example. In addition to the band’s usual spectacular set that among other things featured rarities “True Love Waits” and “Talk Show Host”, Thom Yorke and Co. wowed fans (somehow managing to create more than the usual amount of wow) with  a cover of Neil Young’s “Tell Me Why”.

The After the Gold Rush opener was performed in “Faust Arp” fashion as only Jonny Greenwood and Thom Yorke took the stage, equipped with acoustic guitars. It is only when hearing Yorke sing a Neil Young cover that it becomes easy to see the striking similarities between their respective vocals. Check out the video below and get the mp3 via Gorilla vs. Bear.

The potential for more surprises continues with a few more California dates before Radiohead takes a break on its way to Japan.
