Led Zeppelin reportedly enters studio, to do what is still unknown
After all the hoopla revolving around Led Zeppelin’s one-off reunion and rumored Bonnaroo appearance that never came to be earlier this year, the English legends have been keeping pretty quiet. Well, aside from a semi-reunion with the Foo Fighters and some more Robert Plant solo work.
However, it now appears time to start revving up the Zeppelin rumor mill once again as news has recently surfaced that the band has entered the studio. In an interview with a Detroit radio station, current drummer Jason Bonham revealed that he along Jimmy Paige, John Paul Jones are performing music, whil
e the record button is on, though what exactly is being taped, still remains to be seen.
“At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material…
Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It’s my life. It’s what I’ve dreamed about doing…”
He added: “Lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out [before an album could be made].”
Of course, if these jam sessions do indeed turn out to produce a new album, it would be Led Zeppelin’s tenth overall and first new material since 1979’s In Through the Out Door. Though one would think that before an album were to be recorded, Robert Plant probably needs to make an appearance…
