Editors detail new album
In the midst of their current European tour with R.E.M., the Editors have announced plans to begin working on the follow up to 2007’s An End Has a Start begining in October. Promising an even more electric-heavy sound, the currently untitled, third studio album will look to build on the band’s success in Europe, while perhaps finally allowing the English natives to tap into the U.S. market - An End Has a Start debut #1 in U.K, #117 in the U.S.
“We’ve started writing differently and taking a new approach,” said guitarist Christopher Urbanowicz. “I’ve started writing a lot of riffs on synthesisers and there’s a lot more electronics, samples and drum loops on it. I keep referencing the ‘Terminator’ theme.”

Jacknife Lee, who is also working on Snow Patrol’s upcoming album, has been tapped to produce the project. The BBC got more details during the band’s recent performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
