Alestorm prepare EP release

Alestorm prepare EP release

A few months ago, we reviewed a little pirate metal band out of Scotland called Alestorm. Their debut album, Captain Morgan’s Revenge, contained sea shanties, stories of the sea, larger than life leviathans and drunken stories of death and glory. Thankfully, it now appears more of these fantastic styles and sounds will be greeting our ears soon. According to a statement from Napalm Records via Blabbermouth, the band is gearing up to release a four track EP by mail order by the end of this year:

The four-song EP, which will be made available via mail order only, will contain the tracks “Heavy Metal Pirates”, “Weiber und Wein” (German version of “Wenches and Mead”), “Leviathan” and “Wolves of the Sea”.

The Scottish quartet recently announced their newest drummer as well as a European tour from September 5th to a co-headlining tour with German metal band Grave Digger on January 15th until January 27th.  For now, bust out those beer steins, throw up your bandannas and set sail, for Alestom promises to deliver more tales of Davy Jones’ locker.

  4. Actually, alramone, this was an official release, so if you’re referring to “Wenches And Mead” being “German like”…it’s because it is! Maybe the beer stein reference too? Think of pirates, beer, and beer glasses…steins…I rest my case.

  5. The tune KINDA rips,lol..Very clean production.Keltic lyrics and brit-metal style.I don’t know how you got a “German” feel from it.
