Stereophonics prep new U.S. release, rereleases, and greatest hits
Despite six highly successful studio albums and five #1 appearances on the U.K. Album Charts, Stereophonics remain a relatively unknown commodity in the United States. The Welsh rockers will look to change that begining September 9th with the U.S. release of their latest studio effort, Pull the Pin.
Led by the new single, “My Friends”, the band’s sixth studio albums enters U.S. record stores having already achieved #1 in the U.K last year. What’s more, it will be accompanied by the rereleases of each of the band’s five previous efforts on November 4th and the band’s first greatest hits album, entitled Decade In The Sun: The Best Of Stereophonics, on November 18th.
With the collapse of their US record company V2 America in 2006, Stereophonics and Universal Music Group are re-releasing their entire studio back catalogue on the band’s imprint Vox Populi via Fontana/Universal this fall.
All five of the band’s pervious studio albums (Word Gets Around, Performance & Cocktails, Just Enough Education to Perform, You Gotta Go There to Come Back & Language, Sex, Violence, Other? will now all be made available again on November 4th. Kelly Jones first and only solo album Only The Names Have Been Changed will also be released for the first time in the U.S. on that date as well.
On top of all of this, Stereophonics will also look to thrill U.S. fans with their first stateside tour in nearly three years. Need more convincing? Did we mention George Clooney and Wayne Rooney are fans.
