Jesse Malin brings cover album to U.S.
Earlier this year, Jesse Malin added a somewhat personal touch to some of his favorite tunes and shared them in a cover album, On Your Sleve, for all of Europe to enjoy. Some seven months later on October 28th, the New York native will unveil his compilation of covers to U.S. audiences.
With more than 30 songs to choose from his earlier effort, Malin mixed up the tracklist a bit for the U.S. release, and that included substituting covers of Bad Brains and Springsteen in place of the Ramones and The Kills.
“Some were really changed a lot, but it’s not like a Cat Power cover record where you change the melody and every thing and you just barely recognize (the song),” Malin says. “I’m good at taking songs that are really fast and loud and do ‘em really quiet. I like that, and the opposite, taking a quiet song and kind of pumping it up.”

Malin will support the new release with a number of upcoming tours dates, where the former D Generation frontman will surely replicate a number of these covers in live form.
