Keane thinks Perfect
On October 13th, British rockers Keane will take its latest stab at perfection with the release of its third full-length studio album, Perfect Symmetry. Recorded in Paris and Berlin with the help of producer Jon Brion, the follow up to 2006’s #1 album Under the Iron Sea has been described as a puzzle of repeated themes that will offer an uplifting, “sense of hope.”
I think there are a few different themes running through the record. It’s definitely not anything close to being a concept album. I felt like in some ways ‘Under The Iron Sea’ was almost a concept album in that it had that sort of under the sea darkness and I felt like it occupied a particular space throughout the record really. And this one is much more varied.
Last month, Keane unveiled Perfect Symmetry’s first single, “Spiralling”, as a free download on its website and as a stream on Myspace. They also recently made an appearance at the GQ Awards.
